Weddings: Eric & Alyse

Once upon a time (well not THAT long ago) a friend of a friend asked if I would pretty please photograph her wedding.  Having exclusively shot children & families prior to that I nervously accepted this request.  I am so glad I did because: 1) their wedding was romantic & fabulous, and 2) it made me realize what a true wedding junkie I truly was.  That first wedding was two years ago in Stillwater, MN.  A town where I worked in a past life & miss dearly.  Fast forward to the present, when soon-to-be-married couple Eric & Alyse asked me to shoot their wedding & told me their ceremony & reception would be on a river boad on the St. Croix in Stillwater.  I was thrilled!  And when they told me they'd be getting ready at the gorgeous William Sauntry Mansion?  Be still, my heart!  And when I arrived and Eric was dressed in a white tux...you get it, it made me happy.  Here are some pictures from a beautiful wedding on a beautiful day of a beautiful couple.

They had me at, "sure I'll jump from that"

Meet Tera & Henry.  They are getting married TOMORROW.  I am honored & excited to be shooting their wedding, especially after all the fun that was had during their engagement session!  I am a country girl, born & raised (seriously, I had a rafter of wild turkeys walk through my backyard this morning...& I know that a group of turkeys is called a "rafter"...that's country girl stuff), but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the opportunity to shoot city sessions.  I love the atmosphere & all of the different colors & textures.  It makes me happy.  And shooting a couple like Tera & Henry makes me happy too.  They are completely smitten with eachother & are all about letting the good times roll.  Here are some pictures from our engagement session, where there was kissing, laughing, & impromptu dancing in the street.

Engagements: Katie+Doug

You have to love an engagement session that comes with the disclaimer, "wear plenty of bug spray, the mosquitos are terrible." No exaggeration...they were terrible. But when you're shooting on a family farm with treasures at every turn who has time to worry about that pesky insect sucking its daily quota out of your arm? Here are some pictures from my fun session with a fun couple, Katie & Doug. I'm honored to be shooting their wedding in November!

A Boy & His Bear: A Love Story

I am blessed to do what I do. I get to play outside and meet some awesome and inspirational people. Like Roa and his parents. Roa has cerebral palsy and an infectious smile. He is a little guy that loves to be moving around and checking things out. And he has a bear, Mr. Bear, who has magical powers. Try as he might, Roa can't help but smile whenever Mr. Bear is anywhere in the area. And...he's going to be a big brother soon! He's a boy with a lot of things going on! Check out his blog. His momma does a great job with it. It's fun and inspiring and very informative. http://rojosjourney.blogspot.com/

Weddings: Stacy & Patrick

Stacy & Patrick's wedding day began as most other days in June...with rain. But there were no dampened spirits inside the church, because there was a celebration to be had. And with a wedding party of 20+, a celebration there surely would be! Here are some pictures from a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple. Congratulations, Patrick & Stacy!
